Carrying the Legacy, Building the Future

Second Half Hoops was founded to honor the legacy of Mike Babul, a coach who believed in the power of work ethic, mentorship, and basketball to shape lives. Built on the foundation of his original program, Hoop Work, 2HH continues that mission—developing young athletes through focused training, personal growth, and strong values. After Mike’s passing, his twin brother Jon launched 2HH to carry their shared vision forward. Each session reflects the heart of their work: dedication, discipline, and a belief that the second half can be the most meaningful.

A Legacy for Mike, A Future for Youth Basketball.

2nd Half Hoops was created to honor the legacy of Mike Babul and to continue the mission of his brand and business, Hoop Work. Mike founded Hoop Work in 2021 with the goal of providing athletes in New England the opportunity to develop their basketball skills, achieve personal growth and to discover joy in the game he loved.

Mike Babul was a beloved coach and mentor who dedicated his life to teaching the game and inspiring young athletes and coaches. After Mike’s passing, his identical twin brother, Jon Babul, launched 2nd Half Hoops to continue the mission they once shared. The legacy program is built on the values of family, perseverance, and kindness, aiming to positively impact young lives while keeping Mike’s spirit alive. Although Mike is no longer physically present, the work they started together continues in a powerful new form. Second Half Hoops represents not just the continuation of Mike's dream, but the beginning of a new chapter--“THE SECOND HALF”—where Mike’s positivity, teaching principles and competitive spirit live on through Hoop Work's players, coaches and community.

Hoop Work was founded by Mike Babul with the goal of providing athletes in New England the opportunity to develop their basketball skills. Our training methods are designed for optimum development. We teach our athletes how to be efficient with the work they are willing to invest in themselves. Work ethic is the foundation of success in our program. 2NDHALFHOOPS will be using the same coaching and methods to carry on Mike's legacy and teaching through our staff which will be led by his twin brother Jon Babul.
